We have lost a great man and he will be missed more than words can express. Rod is survived by his wife Bev, son Scott (Marite Hewitt), daughter Kathryn (Tom Broering) and loving Grandad to Dean, Ryan and Andrew.
In 1968, Rod began a long distinguished career with Raybestos. Rod co-founded Peterborough Automotive in 1986 with partner Doug Barraball. Under Rod’s guidance, Peterborough Automotive grew to include Walkwood Supply and Lakefield Auto Parts.
Rod also served as a Director on the Bestbuy Distributors Board from 1988, became Bestbuy’s President in 1998, and in February 2003 retired from the President’s Chair after serving Bestbuy with great dedication, professionalism and distinction.
Rod was also the winner of The William Elton Outstanding Shareholder Award.
Rod finally decided to retire in 2012, at which time his son Scott took over the business. Through this journey, Rod was a pillar in the automotive industry and made many lifetime friends.
